Me & My Husband
I started taking an interest in scrapping about 3 years ago when we were living in on the Awhitu Peninsula (near Auckland,
New Zealand) but I really didn't know where too start. I was too scared to do anything in case I got it "wrong"! A friend of mine was
doing scrapbooking with Creative Memories so I went to a couple of crop nights with her. Still I just aimlessly shuffled pictures around
and never got anything constructive done.
My first layout (where I actually bit the bullet and used glue!) took me ages to do as there was a heap of cutting to do
and I didn't have any real tools apart from a scalpel. I scrapped some pictures that I took when we went for a walk with my daughter to
Karioitahi Beach (Awhitu Peninsula, New Zealand). Needless to say it took me so long that I didn't do much more at that
time!

In December 2006 we went to live in Dubai for a few months before the kids and I moved to Sale, Vic, Australia in March
2007. Given that I was waiting for all our stuff to arrive I had a couple of months of not having much to do. So I decided to get a few
supplies and start scrapping some photos of our stay in Dubai. Still struggling with my layout design and execution I plodded on and did a
few pages. After settling into our new house in Australia and then going to
New Zealand for a holiday in August I felt inspired to start scrapping again. In September my sister (Fifiscrapz) told me about the Jack Challenges
that were online. I won my first challenge from Kiwi Jack Me
Up in October 2007 with a black and white wedding layout. It was drawn out of a hat and my prize
got lost in the post (Kiwi Jack Me Up was in no way
responsible for that) but anyway it got me hooked! The wonderful Monique Darge sent me a fantastic little pack of goodies to make up for
the disappearance of the pack - isn't that so lovely of her!

Now & Then
I found Scrap Therapy in October and they had a fantastic 10 part Scrapping with the Stars challenge just starting up as well as cyber
crops and monthly challenges. So that kept me really busy and I started to experiment with embellishments and ribbons etc. which I
previously hadn't tried using.
The main subjects of my layouts are of my children, Jack (2 1/2 years) and Ysabelle (7 years) and what they get up to.
I scrap to get me away from general day to day chores - it is my escape that keeps me sane when my husband is working offshore! I
really enjoy learning new techniques, as I haven't been doing it very long I still have a LOT to learn.
I do have other hobbies like painting, designing web pages, making jewellery, and my latest craft bone carving but at
the moment I am enjoying scrapbooking as I can incorporate all my other hobbies into it. And I get to do something a bit special with all
our memories which I hope that the kids will appreciate and enjoy when they get older. I don't have a particular style as of yet, I have
too much to learn to commit myself to anything in particular just yet but I am sure that will come in time.
This is my current favourite layout of mine which I did for part 9 of the Scrapping with the Stars challenge on
Scrap Therapy.

I hope you enjoy browsing around my site, I will update it frequently with new images and hopefully get to a point where I
will have articles on tips and techniques.
